The pair will present another outstanding draft of 40 Angus bulls at their 27th annual sale to be held under cover at “Coldawinda”, Tenterfield at 1pm on Saturday, June 24.
Sires represented include the consistent and proven feedlot performers EXAR Upshot, Rennylea Edmund and Connealy Earnan, with the new season power sires Jindra Double Vision and Carabar Wheelwright H215 – maternal brother to Carabar Docklands whose progeny have been topping sales throughout the country.
Colin Keevers said they were always striving to improve the breeding performance of the sale bulls and embrace technology and innovation.
“Once again the sale bulls have all been HDi50K gene tested and parentage verified with outstanding results across the whole draft, confirming that our bulls carry the genes to perform even though our tough environment here may not always allow them to express their full potential,” he said.
Mr Keevers said they have been very impressed with the temperament, soundness and growth of the Double Vision progeny.
“They are well made easy calving with added muscle expression and natural thickness that will appeal to the commercial beef producer,” he said.
“Of real interest is that genomics indicate the Double Vision sons are elite performers for tenderness, placing in the top 5 per cent of all animals tested.
“The Upshot and Earnan progeny are also a very consistent type with outstanding growth, muscle and yield and were high sellers at last year’s bull 2016 sale.
“Our Docklands brother, Carabar H215 has really bred well with our herd. His progeny have very appealing phenotype, as well as superior performance profiles with several outstanding sire prospects in the draft.”
Alumy Creek sired cattle have been sale toppers at weaner sales from Stanthorpe to Gunnedah this year.
“Any producer wanting to move their herd forward with top commercially focused genetics should look very closely at these sale bulls,” Mr Keevers said.
The bulls are available for inspection at “Coldawinda”, Tenterfield, on Saturday June 17, by appointment or from 10am on sale day, June 24. For more information visit the stud’s website or contact the selling Agents Alford Duff Tenterfield or George and Furhman, Warwick.
