The canteen hosted by Boggabri Public School P&C has become a regular feature at Drovers’ Campfire.
Kate Bomford said the campfire is the P&C’s main fundraising event. Last year it raised nearly $3000 which helped finance new literacy programs and assisted costs associated with school camps and the student-run Smart Chef Program, which produces food to sell in the school tuckshop.
Driving demand at the campfire canteen is its famous hot potato which comes in three varieties – Hawaiian, savoury and Mexican – to quell ravenous appetites.
“They’re really popular,” Ms Bomford said.
But if the starch is too much, caesar salads and coffee are also offered.
