As is traditional for the dawn service, Salvation Army led the Anzac Day address in Gunnedah for the 102nd anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.

Major Gaye Daye focused on Christianity and its links to the Anzacs and war.
“Yes they talk of mateship but many suffered on their own. In their sacrifice they suffered greatly just as they do today,” Major Daye said.
Gunnedah RSL sub-branch president Peter Kannengiesser and Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson laid wreaths on behalf of servicemen and women.
Members of the 12/16 Hunter River Lancers posted a catafalque party at Gunnedah’s dawn Anzac Day service.
The reserve members are travelling to Curlewis this morning for more ceremonial duties before returning for Gunnedah’s main service.
