Former Gunnedah artist Yvette Huegill was declared grand champion with her painting “Across the Flat”.

With 270 entries this year, convenor Maree Kelly said judge Lauren Mackley had a hard task.
“It was not an easy task, but I’m assured now more than ever that Gunnedah is a wonderfully creative and inspirational community of amazing people and artists,” Lauren said.
“The large number of submissions and quality of works speaks volumes and I extend a huge thankyou and congratulations to everybody who entered for provding myself and Gunnedah the chance to peak into your creative realms.”
The winners of the photography section were also announced, with budding photographer Margaret Carr taking out a number of sections including grand champion.
Margaret was also declared the most successful exhibitor of the event.
Photography convenor Chris Burgess said entries were up from last year, with around 800 entries judged on Tuesday by renowned photographer Paul Mathews.
“The standard is amazingly high,” Mr Burgess said.
“Not only of a high standard but a range of different techniques.
“Congratulations to everyone who entered the photography.”
