Twenty-four-year-old Sophie, daughter of Arna and Robert Clift, is this year’s senior entrant and entered the competition to “give back to the community that has given her so much”. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of New England and works part-time at AMPS.
Junior entrant, Haylee Murrell (16), daughter of Wendi and Nathan Murrell, entered showgirl to increase her confidence in public speaking and to “take advantage of a great opportunity” provided to young women in the community. Haylee is a current year 11 student at Gunnedah High School.
Convenor Pippi Beer said numbers are down this year, however entries are open until Thursday evening.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for our entrants and their are some great prizes on offer,” Mrs Beer said.
The winner will be announced at the Art Prize Grand Opening in the Art and Photography Pavilion from 6pm.
