The annual event will be held in the Gunnedah Showgrounds from Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 23.
Now in its 129th year, preparations for the Gunnedah Show have been ongoing for 12 months, with plenty of highlights in the schedule including monster fireworks on Saturday night, the grand parade, cattle and sheep display, trotting, art and photography exhibition, horse and ring events, show jumping and many more.
Young children will have lots of activities to enjoy including the animal nursery, pony rides, pine car racing, Totally Dance Studios display, Murphy’s Puppets, face painting, lolly drop, children’s art, junior cooking, and of course, side show alley.
For those who love a bit of action there is a stunt bike display (FMX Motocross), model aircraft aerial display, motocross demonstration, ute show, sheep dog demonstration, junior and open rodeo, archery display, woodchop and side car motorbike demonstration.
Other attractions include the fashion parade, showgirls competition, wife carrying competition, the bar and live music.
The Griffiths Pavilion won’t disappoint with plenty of talent on display including children’s art, cooking, junior cooking, preserves, CWA display, decorated cakes, handicrafts, horticulture, needlework, produce, children’s literature and colouring-in completion display. The Ladies Auxiliary also serve up a great morning tea and lunch in the pavilion.
Animal lovers will be spoilt for choice with horse events, show jumping, dressage, sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry, Clydesdale, stockhorses, light harness, leds and Shetland ponies, heavy harness.
Membership gives access to the show for three days at a cost of $40 for a family, $20 for adults, $10 for aged pensioners and children over five years of age. Children under five get free entry. Membership must be purchased prior to the show, with car stands on sale from April 10.
