The bonny mare finished less than 2 ½ lengths from smart winner Zarabeel in a better than average edition of the Armidale Servies Class 3 Handicap (1900m).
Supreme Goddess (ridden by jockey Sophie Young) got through the heavy track with aplomb and ran a race better than her $21 odds suggested.
Look for Gunnedah trainer Sally Torrens to find a step back in grade and possibly a slight rise in trip next start.
Torrens has nominated Supreme Goddess for a 2000m Benchmark 60 Handicap at Coonamble on Monday, a race which ticks both of those boxes.
But while she thrived in the wet conditions, the same could not be said for stablemate Dos Santos.
In a somewhat surprising performance considering his previous solid efforts on heavy tracks, Dos Santos finished last beaten 14.5 lengths in a 1300m Benchmark 58 Handicap.
Quirindi hope Dubali failed to fire in the $40,000 McDonalds Armidale Cup (1900m) won by Glen Innes galloper Carry On Jake.
Dubali ($10) was beaten 18 lengths last with jockey Rachael Murray reporting her mount resented racing being behind runners after not finding the lead.
Looking towards Monday’s Coonamble meeting and Torrens will not be the only Gunnedah trainer heading west.
Gavin Groth has nominated Mi Lads Princess, About Time and Epic Decision, although the final two gallopers hold entries for races at Tamworth on Tuesday.
