The koala above was spotted lapping up some moisture from the side of Wandobah Road after recent rain.
To help koalas access water, you can put dishes close to food and shelter trees. Make sure they are well away from dogs.
Other ways you can help are by looking out for koala signage and being koala aware. Koalas have poor eyesight and are at risk of being hit by cars and trains.
Photos of koalas going about their business at Curlewis and Emerald Hill have also been posted on the page.
Gunnedah’s Project Koala is calling on people to keep a record of where koalas are and what condition they are in on this page to help build a bank of knowledge about the region’s population.
