Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey will represent the shire, his first economic summit representing council since taking office in September 2016.
The former chamber of commerce president will join Senator Fiona Nash and Deputy Premier John Barilaro covering topics such as digital marketing, regional development, manufacturing, economics, building and agriculture, according to council’s business paper.
The two-day conference held at Nambucca Heads will also complement council’s upcoming Economic Development Manager appointment.
Cr Chaffey will be joined by Director Planning and Environmental Services, Andrew Johns, at the summit.
The representatives hope to gain an understanding of “contemporary best practice” and how it could be applied locally here in Gunnedah.
