Teenage leg-spinner Will Maggs played a starring role for the newly-crowned premiers at Kitchener Park.

Maggs conjured a spell of 5-31 in eight overs to halt Court House’s momentum following a bright start.

The Bulldogs raced to 51 without loss before skipper Nathan McDonald (21) was the first man to fall.

Enter Maggs, who shortly after claiming the scalp of fellow opening batsman Jasper Thomas (20).

His departure sparked a quick collapse as Maggs collected five wickets on the trot in a devastating spell, with Court House slumping from 1-57 to 6-75.

But the Dogs responded through a rearguard knock of 39 from Oscar King.

King watched on from the other end as Maggs ran riot before making his mark, hitting five boundaries during a 58-ball stay.

He shared a 63-run stand for the seventh wicket alongside Sam Elphick (27no), although his dismissal triggered a collapse of 4-7 as Gary Briggs (2-21) and Scott Clarke (2-4) struck paydirt.

Albion needed 147 to claim the prize and cruised to the target inside 30 overs.

Briggs and Ryan Cooper set the tone with a slashing 74-run partnership.

Cooper was the first man to go, run out for 36, while Briggs hit five boundaries in a stylish 42 before being caught by Angus Beasley off the bowling of Thomas.

Zach Clarke (16no) and Michael King (16no) proved resolute to the finish, sealing the title with 65 balls to spare.
