The show is one of two appearances for Tamworth’s alternative rock quartet Traces which has just released its latest single The Light. 

Gunnedah’s Billabong of Blood will perform music from their debut self titled album which was recently released. The band consists of Nigel Huntley who does vocals, Steven Randall and Ben Paynter who play guitar, Mick Fogarty on bass and John Fogarty on drums.

Billabong of Blood was formed in late 2013 and is influenced by the Bay Area, LA, NY and German Thrash scenes of the 80's, elements of Groove Metal and other genres which fall under the area of extreme metal.

Member John Fogarty said the band knew the members of Traces and PurEnvY quite well.

"We've played a few shows with them and went and seen them play plenty of times,” he said.

“The [Traces] guitarist Isaiah and I actually went to the same school for a little while until I finished. Traces have been around for a while now and I'd go and see them play whenever they'd be in Tamworth or anywhere close. 

“Once my band (Billabong of Blood) started doing shows we'd be put on shows that Jack Pallett (Traces frontman) was running and he was really impressed by how we played and it's just kept going from there.”

The dummer said he always looked forward to playing with the guys from Traces and PurEnvY. 

“We’re all good mates and it's even better playing to a home crowd,” he said.

“I encourage people to come out and see them on the 1st; they are really good."

Doors open at 6.30pm for the metal showcase. Pre-sale tickets are $15 and tickets at the door are $20.
