Tyson attends Farrer Agricultural High School in Tamworth and is well known for his musical talents. He was hand-picked for Schools Spectacular in Sydney in November 2016 and is currently undertaking grade six of the Australian Music Board Examinations.
Tyson’s grandmother Leonie Harley, and his mother Rhana are long-time members of the CWA branch.
During the meeting, president Coralie Howe said she hoped the members would all enjoy working together in the branch’s 95th year and would be pleased with the outcomes during the year.
A recent mental health awareness workshop held in the CWA rooms was well attended both by the community and CWA members. The free workshop was facilitated by Hunter New England Health and was open to the public.
Jenny O’Sullivan from the Embroiderers’ Guild selected a varied collection of handicrafts to undergo group judging on March 20. The monthly competition was won by Lilian Lee and Kris Scott. The competition for the March 2 meeting is “my favourite book”.
The painting of the exterior of the CWA rooms will begin at the end of February. This was made possible by a grant obtained from CWA head office.
The next Gunnedah CWA meeting will be held on March 2, with new members always welcome. For more information, contact Coralie Howe on 6742 7911.
