The Glenda Bush-trained Ignite The Kitty won race nine while Bell-trained duo Lektra Fella and Sketchy Mckenzie won the fifth and seventh races.
Glenda Bush, Jamie Bush, Phillip Ross, Byron Phillips, William Marmara, Bryan Garland, Patrick Marley, Cherie Rosier, Ivan Scott, Ian Smyth and Brian Chivers were the Gunnedah trainers involved.
Other local trainers included Andrew Bell, and Curlewis duo Kevin Sills and Allan Syphers.
Marmara (races four and seven), Ross (race two), Marley (race six) and Syphers (race 10) had runner-up placings.
Bruce Caden of Chambers Flat notched three victories as Larnach Lass, Sunnyside Style and Celebrity Ink won races three, 11 and 12 respectively.
Ronald Whitton of Wee Waa, Mark Munn of Tamworth, Trevor Rice of Wedderburn, Peter Midson of Werris Creek, Stephen Casey of Doubtful Creek and Evelyn Harris of Whiteman Creek notched one victory apiece.
Race one was won by one of the equal-favourites while amazingly, none of the remaining 11 races were won by a favourite.
The biggest surprises were in races six and seven as the winners had respective starting prices (SPs) of $9 and $8 while the SPs of the respective favourites were $2 and $1.70.
The first four and last five races were 347m, and races five and six were 440m while race seven was 512m.
Races one, two, four, six, seven, eight, 11 and 12 had a field of seven, and races five, nine and 10 had a field of eight while race three had a field of six as several of the races had scratchings.
The Whitton-trained Amarli Rose won the opening race by 0.75 lengths after being one of four greyhounds with an SP of $3.
In race two, the Munn-trained Billi’s Scout won by six lengths after being the fourth favourite.
Larnach Lass and the Rice-trained Rose Of India won the next two races by 3.5 lengths, before Lektra Fella won by four lengths.
“Coming back to the country, he was back to his best,” Bell said of Lektra Fella which had had three fifth placings and an eighth placing in the past two months.
“He hasn’t been going bad, but he’s been racing against very good dogs.
“I knew he was going to go well on his home track.”
Bell said that box number two was suitable as Lektra Fella liked being near the rail, and that he “needs the inside rail” in an upcoming final at Gunnedah.
The Midson-trained Fire Fly Huei won race six by 4.25 lengths, before Sketchy Mckenzie won race seven by five lengths.
Sketchy Mckenzie’s win was a stark contrast to its past five races, which involved a sixth placing, two thirds and a fourth, followed by a fall.
The Casey-trained Country Best won race eight by 2.25 lengths, before the Glenda Bush-trained Ignite The Kitty won race nine by 4.5 lengths.
In its past five races, Ignite The Kitty twice came eighth and twice came seventh, and once came third.
The Harris-trained Dark Sprite won race 10 by 2.25 lengths, before Sunnyside Style and Celebrity Ink won by 3.5 and 6.5 lengths respectively.
Gunnedah hosts another greyhound meet this coming Saturday.
