Robyn Louis was inducted as a Life Member, while Gabby O’Gorman was named NVI player of the year.
It proved to be an emotional time for O’Gorman who, as previously reported, will spend four years in the USA to further her tennis career and academic pursuits.
Gunnedah Tennis Club coach Dale Martin said O’Gorman had been “a great representative of Gunnedah tennis” and was “a great credit to the game and will be sorely missed”.
O’Gorman offered her sincere thanks to many people involved in Gunnedah tennis.
The day was also special for the O’Gorman family as Sam O’Gorman earned the Ian Percy Award, with Trish O’Gorman accepting the award on behalf of her son who was absent.
Some other award winners were also unavailable for Sunday’s presentation.
