Chamber president and Namoi Valley Bricks’ Michael Broekman, Walker Beer Solicitors and Conveyancers’ Stacey Cooke and The Peel Valley Group’s Phil John, gave professional insight into what employers are looking for when young people present for an interview and emphasised the importance of attitude and willingness to learn as necessary attributes for young job seekers.
Mr Broekman said school reports provided important insight for employers and gave a practical demonstration of how an employer uses the information to make decisions.
Mr Broekman said “youth are the future of the town” and the chamber wants to continue supporting them.
Peel Valley and the brickworks are already strong supporters of the school’s work experience program and and provide school-based apprenticeships..
