The refurbishment is part of the $2 million State Government commitment to improve Gunnedah’s aging health facility.
This week Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson toured the newly completed roof replacement of the administration and community health block.
“These upgrades are well deserved as the community has worked hard to fundraise for improvements to the site over the years,” Mr Anderson said.
“This hospital sits at the heart of the Gunnedah community.”
The next step will be to finalise the designs for the Clinical Sterile Supply Department and the operating theatre. Construction is expected to start later this year.
The final stage of the refurbishment will see an upgrade to the kitchen with design documentation expected to be finalised in the coming months before construction starts in 2017.
