Five male boxer cross puppies recently found dumped on the side of the road between Narrabri and Wee Waa will be sent to the Central Coast so the branch can prepare for a large litter of puppies due any day.
Local RSPCA member Maddison Lawback said the branch only had about four foster carers at present, and were struggling to make room for the increasing number of animals coming into their care.
Ms Lawback said all costs associated with foster care are covered by the RSPCA, and she has been fostering for three years.
”I do it for the love of animals. Knowing that I’m saving a life and rehoming it into a new forever home is amazing,” she said.
“There is always something waiting to be saved.
“Without foster carers we would not be able to continue our work.”
