The six-week-old puppies were in found in a box by a woman driving by who saw the box move and decided to investigate.
The woman took the puppies to Narrabri pound and a staff member made a visit to the vet to have them checked over, then cared for them over the weekend.
Gunnedah RSPCA member Maddison Lawback said she picked the puppies up yesterday and they were doing well.
“They were little bit underweight and severely dehydrated but they’ve picked up over the weekend,” she said.
The puppies are having their first vaccination tomorrow, and will also be wormed and treated for fleas. They will be available for adoption after next week.
