The energetic efforts of the transport division manager were recognised at the 2016 Business and Services Awards on Friday night.
Also praised was Young Entrepreneur Award winner, Alice Weinthal.
Both rising stars balance commitments across multiple business titles – John in two transport companies and Alice in the food and beverage industry as well as a local law practice.
Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce president Jamie Chaffey said both are helping to secure Gunnedah’s commercial future and prosperity.

The chamber president was particularly enthused by the young business presence at the awards presentation.
“The number of young people in the room was really encouraging,” Mr Chaffey said.
“It’s an exciting indication of what’s to come for the Gunnedah business community.”
Other finalists in the young entrepreneur stakes included Glenn Many, Brooke Patriquin and Tracey Neilson.
Taylah Hudson and Above and Beyond Award winner Josh Boyd were fellow finalists for young business executive.
