Katrina, her daughter Charlotte, Maryanne Grosser and Kate James were busy wrapping and selling bunches of daffodils in brown paper, along with Cancer Council merchandise. Katrina prepared 70 bunches for local schools, with 200 bunches prepared overall.
“We sold out [of daffodils] by after lunch, and we had a lot of people asking for them,” Katrina said.
“It was really successful day.
“I was completely overwhelmed by the amazing response from the Gunnedah community.”
Katrina decided to show her support for the Cancer Council event after a recent cancer scare, which saw her lose a section of her lip and chin area because of sun damage.
The mother of two said she will run the stall again next year with more daffodils to meet the demand.
The funds raised for Daffodil Day will go towards cancer research.
This year, the Cancer Council is calling on people to ‘dedicate a Daffodil’ to someone affected by cancer.
