The HE Silos-sponsored “Mount Porcupine” hill climb will be conducted along the historic Apex Drive tourist road to the town lookout.
There has been a record 50 entries for the Gunnedah Motoring Enthusiasts Time Attack event, with locals joined by entrants from Queensland and South Australia as well as NSW towns including Werris Creek, Kempsey and Armidale.
A newly reformed, widened and resurfaced tourist roadway by Gunnedah Shire Council back in February, has settled well.
The course then continues from the hairpin with a power straight till crossing the 850-metre finish line, then a braking overshoot before the top car park/pits area.
With spectators and families welcome, entry will be a gold coin donation, and there will be a spectator courtesy bus leaving from the start line.
