Mackellar Care Services, Gunnedah Hospital Auxiliary, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Riding for the Disabled, Gunnedah Homes for Aged (Yallambee) and Alkira Aged Care received a $500 cheque.
Mackellar Care chief executive officer Sandra Strong said it was fantastic to receive donations for the services in Apex and Marquis Streets.
“They’ve supported us for at least three years and this year the donation for the Apex Road will go towards fundraising for a bus for the residents to go out on social outings and be a part of the community. And the $500 donation to Alkira will go towards purchasing a shower chair,” she said.
Secretary/treasurer Lesley Croft said the donation to the Hospital Auxiliary would go towards the purchase of an AccuVein, which helps medical staff to find patients’ veins more easily.
“It’s around $4000, so we’ve got a way to go, so any donations are very much appreciated,” she said.
