The funds will go towards more activities and equipment for the youth.
The event was a success, with more than 150 people participating, from toddlers through to grandparents.
Ainsley Warren organised the event as part of the PCYC’s Blue Star Leadership program, which aims to teach real-life skills and develop leaders for the future.
As part of the program, participants must contribute two hours a week for ten weeks as a volunteer at their local PCYC.
Gunnedah club manager Rhonda Smith said one of the things involved with the Blue Star Leadership program is that participants have to organise an activity of their own and that Ainsley did a great job.
“We had mums and dads playing with the kids…they all had a ball,” Ms Smith said.
“We could have taken more people but we didn’t have the time slots. She did a wonderful job. Very spot on with whatever she does. It was very good.”
Although organising and advertising for the event was stressful, Ainsley enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again in the future.
“I have never organised an event like this before, it was so much fun,” she said.
“I choose this event for the community to come together, for families and friends to have a good night together.”
Due to the event’s success, organisers plan to run a laser tag night once a school term.
Gunnedah PCYC thanked Moree PCYC for providing the equipment.
