The Dogs welcomed Oxley Diggers to Kitchener Oval on Sunday, May 1 and proved too strong as they ran out 38-20 victors in the Group 4 Cup competition.
The reserves were equally as impressive with a 24-14 win while the under 18s and ladies league tag sides were bested by Oxley.
North Tamworth started their title defence in a positive manor, beating Narrabri 30-4 at Jack Woolaston Oval in the first grade.
The Bears were dominant in all grades on the day.
In Sunday 1’s other game, West Lions battered the Armidale Rams in a 102 points to 6 rout.
