Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command carried out a random drug testing operation in the Gunnedah area on Sunday.
They are now waiting for test results pending further action.
A police vehicle stop in Gunnedah in the early hours of Monday morning resulted in one man found to be in breach of bail and another arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Officers received information about a suspicious person in the Gunnedah area and stopped a vehicle in Abbott Street.
After speaking with the four occupants from Sydney - which included three males and a female - they were all arrested.
Police say one of the men, aged 28, was found to be on bail for serious matters but was in breach of that bail.
It’s alleged another man, aged 32, was identified as having an outstanding conviction warrant for assault matters.
The other two occupants were released without charge.
The 28-year-old later appeared in court and was refused bail.
A 25-year-old woman has been issued with fines and banned from a Conadilly Street store after allegedly stealing a number of items on Saturday.
Police say the woman is believed to have stolen items at the same business on three separate occasions prior to that day.
Investigations are under way into an attempted break-and-enter into a Barber Street business on Saturday night.
The offenders or offender jumped a barbed wire fence and attempted to force entry by damaging the back door.
The alarm was activated but no access was gained.
There was another break-and-enter in George Street on Saturday night.
A back garden shed was broken into and items were moved, but nothing seems to have been stolen.
A woman has escaped serious injury after her car hit a cow on the Oxley Highway last night.
The driver was travelling east towards Tamworth, 10kms from Gunnedah, when a black cow wandered onto the road without warning at around 6.30pm.
She hit the cow head on and caused damage to the vehicle which had to be towed. The cow died.
