Brodie Robert Woodhead-Dall appeared in Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday charged with one count of indecently assaulting a person under the age of 16.
Woodhead-Dall is accused of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a local pool on March 27.
During the brief proceedings in court, Magistrate Peter Barnett granted solicitors for Woodhead-Dall a four-week adjournment to speak with the prosecution.
The accused was not required to enter a plea to the charge, and had his bail conditions continued.
Police allege the accused had been communicating with the girl on social media since late last year before arranging to meet at the pool, where he's accused of indecently assaulting her.
Police were alerted to the incident which was then referred to the State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad to investigate.
Detectives from the Squad's Tamworth office launched an investigation which culminated in the accused's arrest at a Gunnedah business on April 6.
Woodhead-Dall, who was granted conditional bail by police following his arrest, will return to court in June.
