The Queenslander in car number 26 won the Australian championship final after two days of racing at the Gunnedah track.
He was ranked third after three rounds of heats on Friday evening and trailed top-placed James Aranyosi (Victoria) and James Kennedy (Queensland) by just four points in a big 43-car field.
Second-home in the final was fellow Queenslander Kaydon Iverson, followed by Victorian Grant Stansfield, third.
Steve Caunt from Goulburn was the only NSW driver to finish on Saturday night. He placed ninth.
In other classes, reigning Greta Smith Memorial Street Stocker title holder Shane Carlson retained his top position.
The Newcastle motor mechanic edged out Friday night winner and fellow Novocastrian, Brendan Wakeman, in second and Tamworth's Ash Hall, third.
A week earlier, Carlson placed third in a long, 40-lap feature in Tamworth but encountered significant car problems in the lead up to Gunnedah.
"It was a brand new car last week but since then I've had to change the engine, clutch and gearbox," Shane said.
"There's not much left [to replace]," he mused.
Also racing Street Stockers in Gunnedah on Saturday night was 18-year-old Blake Eveleigh.
The East Maitland driver won last week's Tamworth event despite starting the race in 18th place.
He hoped for a little luck and a good run to consolidate his standing in Gunnedah where he raced previously as a junior driver.
A podium position however evaded young Eveleigh on this occasion.
The driver meet and greet and charity auction on Thursday evening raised $2540 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
