The group has played at the event since 2007 and this year for the first time, they will be accompanied by highland dancers.
The carols will be held at Wolseley Park on Friday, December 4, kicking off at 6.30pm.
Pipes and Drums member Heather Martin said the band took part because the members liked to interact with the community.
“We’re a community band and a lot of we do is supporting community groups,” she said.
“We like to be involved with any Christmas activities.
“We just do traditional Christmas carol tunes like Away in a Manger and Come All Ye Faithful.”
Ms Martin said she liked the atmosphere of the carols event and seeing families celebrate the Christmas message.
“I think carols are a lovely tradition that families like to be involved with,” she said.
“It is a community collaboration… and it’s always a great night.
“The families love it.”
Schools will be performing at the event and carolers will be treated to live music from Gunnedah Shire Band and a performance from Gunnedah Conservatorium.
Santa will also be making an appearance, with lollies to give away.
Carols in the Park will finish around 9pm with a show of fireworks. If the event is washed out, it will be
postponed to Sunday, December 6.
