Local juniors were out in force for the three-day event in Gunnedah with all points counted toward both their age and open rankings.
Gunnedah’s success spanned the age divisions with finals wins from 10 years through to 18.
Two local powerhouses shaped up in the 18 years-and-under singles final.
Andrew Osmond and Zac McCann went toe-to-toe for title rights.
On this occasion it was Osmond who had the edge, winning 6-1, 6-2.
In the 16 years-and-under girls singles decider, Gunnedah’s Kyra Carlyon swept home against an Armidale opponent to win 6-3, 6-3.
Clubmate Caleb Dorrington made it a winning-double for their age division with a win in the 16 years boy singles final. He beat Flynn Stafford to claim the prize and the all-important tournament points ranking.
Steph Eveleigh was unlucky to miss out on the top title in her 14 years-and-under girls singles final.
The Gunnedah gal was beaten by Canberra opponent Maddison Sutherland.
Ben Northey-Baldwin weathered a big three set final in the 14 years boys singles.
The local young-gun eventually went down 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 to his Gold Coast opponent.
Gunnedah’s Cooper Wilkinson mounted stiff resistance toward the end of his 12 years-and-under boys final.
But it was to little avail as Charlie Pade ran out the singles division champion, 6-3, 7-6.
The local theme had another strong run in the 10 years-and-under singles finals.
Isabelle Moore beat Anna Bishop to win their all-Gunnedah final while Michael Walsh took home top claims in the boys division.
