Toyota held the first public launch of the new HiLux in Gunnedah on Wednesday night.
Taylor Automotive Gunnedah hosted the glittering launch which featured fireworks and a performance by Golden Guitar winners The MyClymonts.
Hundreds attended the HiLux launch which unveiled the vehicle billed as the “most unbreakable HiLux ever”.
Taylor Automotive’s Ryan Taylor told the crowd they were among the first in the country to take a look at the HiLux which had been designed and tested in Australia.
The new HiLux has a stronger frame, two new high-torque turbo-diesel engines, increased towing capacity and payloads of up to 1240kg. It’s the first new HiLux in 10 years.
Those who attended took the opportunity to take a close look at the vehicle, checking under the hood and getting the feel for the driver’s seat. Ian Jordon won the best Toyota jump, winning a HiLux to drive for a month.
