His award comes on the back of selection for the 2015 Junior National Road Championships in Victoria on September 11-13.
The under-15 cycling squad member, is the grandson to Joy and Ray Darcey, as well as Sue and Chris Eather of Gunnedah.
He and brother Dylan rode at the Goulburn two-day tour on May 30-31 where Kurt placed third overall in his U15 division and Dylan first overall in U13.
Dylan is not yet old enough for national selection but his performances bode well for the future.
Next up was the Wagga Wagga two-day event where Dylan placed first and scooped a yellow jersey while Kurt finished second in U15.
Then it was on to the Country Championships in Sydney where Dylan bagged another first overall and Kurt, third, followed by the Hunter Junior Tour at Kurri Kurri earlier this month with identical results.
The brothers also rode at the Dubbo Club Championships senior divisions.
Kurt won B grade champion honours ahead of Darrell Wheeler (second) and dad Vaughn Eather (third), meanwhile Dylan won the C grade championship.
Not content with their success there, the pair clicked on the pedals for the NSW State Cycling Championship in Tamworth last week.
Dylan won three gold medals to place first overall and Kurt a silver, while just missing out on medal contention in two other events, to place third overall in a 20-strong rider field.
Kurt and fellow Dubbo team-mate Luke Ensor are both members of the Western Region Academy of Sport in Bathurst.
Mum Janette Eather (nee Darcey) didn’t miss out either and was named chaperone for the team of boys and girls.
Janette joins team manager Paul Lynch, head coach Tom Dawson among others who will escort the 17-team squad to Victoria.
Away from the cycling track, another Darcey is wining big on the national dance stage.
Taylah Darcey, daughter to Rod, was part of the East Maitland Dance Headquarters Squad which won its way to nationals following the Newcastle Dancelife Unite Regional Event.
Taylah attend the Hunter School of Performing Arts and is practises her dance routines almost every afternoon.
Dancelife United is a new generation dance competition uniquely Australian.
The 2015 regional event was held at Newcastle University where Taylah won sections in U12 lyrical and tap. Her squad will now compete at nationals held at Sydney’s Luna Park.
Joy Darcey said they were all very proud of their three grandchildren and their achievements and like all grandkids, mean the world to their Nans and Pops.
