Jiah Timothy Vernon was arrested in February and admitted to Gunnedah detectives at the time what he had been supplying.
Vernon pleaded guilty in June to supplying a prohibited drug that was less than an indictable quantity but the defence and the DPP needed to settle a number of issues with the facts.
In Tamworth Local Court this week, the DPP told the court the charge related to the supply of 3.5g of methylamphetamine after an investigation by detectives.
A second charge of supply was withdrawn during the brief proceedings.
“He was very co-operative,” solicitor Yvonne Phillipos told the court of her client.
“He made a number of admissions.”
But Magistrate Michael Holmes said the facts didn’t look good for the 30-year-old.
“He’s looking at jail,” he warned Ms Phillipos.
The court heard Vernon was adopted after arriving in Australia when he was just five-weeks-old.
Ms Phillipos said Vernon had battled issues after starting to use speed four years ago.
After reviewing a pre-sentence report, Mr Holmes said he needed more evidence about why he shouldn’t send him to jail.
“I’m not going to sentence him today,” he said, “I need to think about it.”
The case has been adjourned to October for sentencing.
