Boggabri hosted Bendemeer last Saturday in what turned out to be a bruising encounter against Bendy’s big pack of forwards.

A narrow, two-point ball game at half-time blew out to more than 20 by full time as Boggabri ran out winners, 40-18.
Earlier in the match, Blake McIllveen had an try disallowed for a double movement.
But it wasn’t long before Daniel Poss crossed for Boggy’s first match points after being served a beautiful pass from Bobby Jones.
Chris Sheridan was next to score for Boggabri on receiving another great ball from Jones.
Bendemeer hit back in the second half with tries to winger Peter Gardner and centre Harlee Milgate. Both tries were unconverted however Bendemeer were certainly back in the match with Boggabri leading 10-8 at half-time.
Bendemeer crossed in the left corner with their first set in the second half and led 12-10.
The match was in the balance for some time and had the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Boggabri found top gear and scored three tries in six minutes.
Chris Sheridan scored in the right corner after a great backline movement. Jayde was successful with the conversion to leave Boggy back in front 16-12.
Four minutes later Jayde scored in the left corner following through a great kick from Daniel Poss.
Two minutes later Toby Morris charged through the centre of the ruck to score next to the posts.
With Jayde’s conversion, Boggy shot to a 28-12 lead.
Hooker Ben Davis was next to score from dummy-half and Jayde was successful again as Boggy led 34-12.
Bendemeer responded two minutes later with a try to five-eight Adam Ruttley which was converted by Chris Leslie and with five minutes remaining the score was Boggabri 34, Bendemeer 16.
Chris Sheridan was not finished for the day and after Beau Dawson regathered a chip kick from Daniel Poss, he crossed for his third try which Jayde converted to leave the final score 40-18 in Boggy’s favour.
Prop Heath McIllveen had another strong game and received three points from the referee and Jayde Campbell, one point.
Boggabri travel to Barraba on Saturday with Barraba needing to win to remain in contention for the semi- finals.
Barraba are only six points behind Boggabri who are running fourth on the ladder.
Boggabri haven’t tasted success at Barraba since re-entering the competition in 2013 and will be keen to post a win next week with a possibility of having a home semi-final.
