The Department of Human Services was well-represented, with Indigenous service officer Rhee Waters raising the Aboriginal flag.
Ms Waters reflected on her own Indigenous heritage and Cliff Griffen delivered the Welcome to Country, touching on the role of custodianship. Following this, Red Chief LALC chief executive office Toni Comber invited everyone inside to enjoy morning tea together.
“It’s been a wonderful opportunity for the Human Services staff and the Aboriginal community to get together and celebrate NAIDOC over morning tea,” she said.
