I write in support of Violeta Hiscock’s attempts to stay in her own home, and for her acceptance that this option is not possible.
I admire Violeta’s courage in taking a stand against the NSW Roads and Maritime Service, who have almost taken this situation to the point of no return.
Our home is a “haven”. Sadly, the reality is two homes will be demolished.
It may take months or years of just waiting.
I question how any one of us would feel if it was our home in the way of progress?
As a community, could or should we have done more to prevent it happening? Was consideration given for relocation of homes?
Unfortunately at the time, council had ignored the will of concerned citizens who signed petitions on another issue.
