Police rounded up the “inmates” who each had to collect $500 for PCYC Time4Kids to make bail.
The 10 have been fund-raising ahead of the lock-up which was held in Wolseley Park during the markets.
PCYC’s Rhonda Smith said the event had gone well.
“I would like to thank the community members who gave up their time to fund-raise and be locked up,” she said.
“We’d also like to thank the community of Gunnedah who got behind our jailbirds and gave their donations.”
Inmate Lisa Warren from PCYC said the event had been a lot of fun.
Inmate Wendy Marsh, from Gunnedah Diesel Service, managed to squeeze through the bars and make a break for it, with Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson and Beetle’s Boot Camp’s Tania Ruttley also spotted on the run.
The Time4Kids event is held around the country.
While the final “bail” money is not yet in, the prisoners have raised well over $5000 for PCYC programs.
Other inmates who did time in Wolseley Park on Saturday were Brock and Kim Stone from Gunnedah Shire Council, Ray Knight from Mitre 10, Marie Low from the Namoi Valley Independent, Gunnedah High School captain Mitch Brandon and Gunnedah Public School teacher Emma Baker.
The Time4Kids lock-up is an annual event, and PCYC is already on the lookout for suitable inmates for next year.
