The youngster was sent flying in his valiant attempt to tame the beast.
The Tamworth rider didn’t qualify for a time on this occasion but he wasn’t alone.
Not many of his comrades achieved a qualifying time either but Bendemeer junior Braith Nock was the exception.
The pint-sized cowboy holds numerous titles including the Australian Bushman’s Campdraft Rodeo Association 2014 junior barrel race champion (11 and under 14 years) and the 2013 all round junior cowboy title.
Young Nock rode with skill beyond his years to make time in Gunnedah and win this year’s show event.
As for Riley, he was a little was sore and sorry after his hard landing but otherwise ok.
