A 35-YEAR-OLD Gunnedah man has been charged after being found armed with a knife in the early hours of this morning.
Police stopped the man while he
was walking along Abbott Street at 2.30am.
After questioning the man, police conducted a search where they allegedly found a home-made knife in his possession.
The 35-year-old was charged with custody of a knife in a public place and is due to appear in court at a later date.
POlice are calling on any witnesses to a fail-to-stop accident on the Kamilaroi Highway at Gunnedah on Monday night.
A red Mazda sedan was parked near the saleyards while the owner was working nearby. On return, it was noticed there was severe damage to the rear of the vehicle and it had been moved a certain distance.
The incident happened sometime between 6-9.30pm. Anyone who may have seen anything is being asked to contact Gunnedah police.

The cause is unknown and there was no damage to property.
