About 130 nominations have been received for the six-race, TAB meet at Gunnedah’s Riverside Racecourse.
However organisers have tipped the addition of a seventh race, such is the popularity of this weekend’s race meet.
The 1300m Benchmark 50 has more than 30 entries tabled while another 50 potential starters are spread across two other races.
Gunnedah Jockey Club secretary manager, Mark Storey, said it was Gunnedah’s central location to neighbouring towns and the quality race surface that continues to draw high nominations.
“Our track has a nice, soft reputation,” he said.
“It’s a fair and even surface.”
