The organising committee is calling on ex-students to contact their former classmates and hold class reunions within the overall celebration.
The whole school reunions are traditionally held on the decade and half-decade and the committee has already received many inquiries, with ex-students asked to pass the word around even if they cannot attend.
With the advent of social media, former students are finding it much easier to contact their old school friends and it is hoped to fill the auditorium at Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club on Saturday, October 3, when a dinner will be held, with a sausage sizzle planned for the following day and a display of memorabilia.
The cost is $50 per head for the dinner and sausage sizzle and any surplus funds from the reunion are used for the annual prize giving awards, with lump sums given to both schools after the reservation for prizes is made.
