For Kayla Miller, the memory of good deeds done was enough for her to start a new Facebook page aimed at lending a helping hand to those in need.
The Gunnedah - pay it forward Facebook page is dedicated to providing an avenue for people to post their unwanted items – for free.
“I thought I’d start this page up to help people who need items,” Kayla says on the page.
“If you don’t use anything at home, please pay it forward and give it to someone who would use/need it.
“Trust me, you feel fantastic after helping someone in need. Unlike most buy swap sell pages, there aren’t many rules, just two.... Rule number 1 is that it needs to be legal (obviously) and rule number two, it has to be free. Please like and share with as many people you know.”
Kayla said today the page had only been in operation for a few days, but has already attracted more than 450 likes.
“I have been heaps surprised by how popular it has already been,” she said.
“Items are starting to be posted.
“I know there isn’t much work out there at the moment and this could help.”
The site can list all kinds of items from baby clothes to lawn-mowing services and anything in good order that people might not need any longer.
