Harry Hubbard carded the best score of the day with 41 points and achieved the rare distinction of shooting a score better than his age with 86 strokes.
The A grade winner was Don Whiteman with 37 points on a countback from Dave Porter.
Darby Waghorn was the winner in B grade with 40 points followed by Bart Brady with 38 points on a countback.
Ron Taylor followed Harry Hubbard home in C grade with 38 points.
Harry Hubbard took out the Guzzler’s Cup and Nick Duff secured the NAGA.
Nearest-the-pins: 2nd hole Bob Hopkins, 3rd Max Brown, 7th Peter Kenny, 12th Troy Dries.
In addition to these players balls were also won by Roger Buttenshaw, Les Blunt, Ian Jordan, Ken Renton, Alan Deaves, Greg Anderson, Des Dries, John Hartog, Jamie Lucas, Paul Smallpiece, Peter Koch, Charlie Johnston, Steve Dunn, Gary Ashworth, Paul Hibbert, Peter Kerr, Alex Whitby, Ron Bunce, Nev Constable, Dave Berry, Bart Brady, Mick Crawford and Ian McArthur.
Saturday’s event will be a single stableford event for club trophies and round 5 of the Peter Kruse Memorial Consistency.
Saturday also saw the presentation to the winners of the Gunnedah Golf Club cup, this competition involves accumulating points for the number of rounds played on Saturdays, with the first 15 players sharing a total of $5500.
Russell Easey took out first place with a total of 12,332 points, 2nd Shane Wilson 11,983 points and 3rd Peter Ellis 11,828 points.
In mid-week golf the fourball winners were Gary Ashworth and Brian Mitchell with 56 points from Leon Mills and Owen Wells with 51 points on a countback from Josh Martin and Jordan Randle.
In the singles event the winners were Gary Ashworth with 30 points from Leon Mills with 28 points and Bob Hopkins with 27 points.
In veteran’s golf last Monday Henry Constable and Greg Anderson were the winners with 35 points from Al Francis and Peter Kerr with 34 points and Henry Constable and John Campbell with 34 points.
Friday’s winners were Harry Hubbard and Henry Constable with 32 points on a countback from Tony Jones and John Campbell.
