Gunnedah Shire Council announced the winners of the 2014 Christmas Lights Competition this afternoon.
Kamilaroi Road won back the title after it went to South Street last year, but South Street remained a favourite with the judges, taking one of the judges' choice awards.
Kamilaroi Road has dived into the festive spirit with fervour, with many homes along the stretch of road sporting Santas, reindeer and a host of other Christmas decorations.
The prize is shared among five families.
Gunnedah Shire mayor Owen Hasler said entrants in the competition had made a "wonderful effort in presenting their homes for the Christmas season".
He said many of the people who had lit up their homes for Christmas had not entered the competition.
First prize for the best decorated house went to 98 Furphy Road, Curlewis, with Cr Hasler noting it was well worth the trip to Curlewis for those who had not already seen the house.
Second prize for best decorated house went to 5 Saunders Place, and third price to lot 1 Mullaley Road.
Betty Condran in Bloomfield Street won the prize for the best nativity scene.
Other judges' choices awards went to 25 McAndrew Street and 39 and 43 Callender Avenue.
The best Christmas theme in a village was won by 7 Pullaming Street at Curlewis.
