Top of the table leaders Court House Crusaders have secured a well-earned grand final berth in the Gunnedah PCYC volleyball competition.
The season front-runners defeated Fig Jam two sets to one in Monday night’s major semi-final to progress straight through to the decider.
Only a narrow three-point margin separated teams in the first set but the difference widened by the second and third.
Alistar Hillard played well in the final, as did Brodie Small.
Crusaders player Damien Baldwin said despite leading the competition, his side has lost its fair share of games this season against some quality opposition.
Last year the Crusaders were knocked out early in the preliminary finals, so the team will be hoping to go all the way this year.
Meanwhile in Monday’s minor semi-final, Devils got the upper-hand over Gunyah Style to win 3-0.
It was all one-way traffic to Devils which won two of the three sets convincingly 15-9 and 15-8 but suffered a scare in the third, 15-13.
Among the playing best from that final included Darrin Certoma for Devils Daniel Irwin for Gunyah Style.
Devils will now play-off against Fig Jam at 6.30pm (referee Daniel Irwin, scorer Matt Agostino) next Monday at the PCYC for the right to meet fellow grand finalists, Crusaders.
