GUNNEDAH Pottery Club members are “All Fired Up” for their exhibition opening at Work of Art Community Gallery on Saturday.

Work of Art Community Gallery is will present the exhibition which showcases the work of 16 local pottery club members, including Pam Thomas who has been refining her art for more than 50 years.
Other exhibiting artists include Louise Baker, David Bell, Louise Chad, Lynda Clark, Geoff Dawson, Anne Knight, Jenny Mathews, Heath Meizer, Martine Moran, Anne Pickett, Annie Simson, Frankie Thomas, Rick Thomas, Pat Tobin and Susan Wilson.
The open day will be held from 10-5pm, with local artists on hand offering live demonstrations.
Three potter’s wheels will be in operation with visitors invited to try their hand at pottery techniques, including “throwing” using the wheel or hand sculpting.
More than 200 pieces will be on exhibition, including raku-fired ceramics, vases, bowls, pots, tea sets, sculptures, jugs and more.
Most items will be for sale to the public.
The gallery will continue to stock local pottery after the exhibition ends on November 1.
The open day is also an opportunity for people to ask local potters questions and to join the Gunnedah Pottery Club.
The club meets on Tuesday evenings at the Gunnedah Showground and holds four classes a year through the Community College.
Light refreshments will be available on the day and the Palette Cafe will also be in operation.
