More than 40 teams from across the North West region turned out for this year’s Gunnedah and District Junior Soccer Carnival recently.
Local sides delivered starring performances in a number of grades.
Among the best of them was Gunnedah Leather Processors, coached Matt Davis, which beat second-placed Kootingal to win the 7 years age division.
The Wellington Sardinha-coached Moores Electrical was also in great form and won out the 8/9 years division from Kootingal in second place also.
Another great result from local outfit, Carwash 2380, saw their side claim victory in the 10/11 years division from Mono Magic in second spot.
Fellow Gunnedah side Rettie & Vickery was unlucky to miss the top placing from Narrabri in the 12/13 years.
In other grades, Narrabri won the 14/15 years from South Tamworth in second, while Kootingal took out top claims in the 5/6 years followed by the second-placed Tamworth FC.
