Cath and her husband David, who was a contestant on the TV cooking show “My Kitchen Rules” in 2012, are taking part in a ‘Soldier On’ event, aimed at helping wounded Australian soldiers.
The ‘Soldier On’ organisation serves as the link between wounded Australians and their communities, allowing people from all walks of life to support wounded men and women and help them succeed in their rehabilitation and beyond.
The ‘Solider On’ gala evening will include an online auction and the Gunnedah community is encouraged to get behind the worthy cause.
More than 50 items have been listed for the auction, including a Noosa Food and Wine Festival package, a Bruce Springsteen hand signed guitar, as well as a range of sporting and adventure items.
David is an ambassdor for the ‘Solider On’ initiative and although he is still a serving member of the Australian Defence Force, he and Cath have also started up a new venture ‘Cook with Love’.
The business aims to engage with the community through cooking, events and culinary battlefield tours.
Cath has a long history in cooking as a chef and more recently as a hospitality teacher at TAFE Queensland and in high schools.
