The three-day event draws around 3000 exhibitors from across Australia and the world, and attracts 100,000 people.
It’s known as one giant agricultural supermarket and this year’s event is shaping up to be just as impressive, according to organisers.
“Australian farmers are recognised as world leaders in best practice and efficiency,” General Manager of Rural Press Events, Barry Harley said.
“Part of the reason for that is they are continually seeking out new products to help them work better and smarter on their properties.”
AgQuip has developed a reputation over the last 42 years as the nation’s premier centre of the latest agri-innovation and developments in agricultural machinery and equipment.
Each year, participating companies use the field days as a launching pad for new products and services, in the process using unique opportunities offered by AgQuip to make direct contact with their customers.
“Commonwealth Bank AgQuip plays a vital role in bringing the makers, distributors and sellers of these producers together with end users at the one convenient location to compare and buy,” Mr Harley said.
“Innovation is something we are seeing increasingly more of in the industry with farmers responding to environmental changes in new and interesting ways.”
Everything from giant machinery, to stock, spray rigs and home-made baked good will be on offer at AgQuip.
Some of the latest innovations to feature at this year’s event will be an unmanned flying wing aerial imaging system that provides high resolution photos of crops; an Australian first nitro injection toolbar which allows direct-inject fertiliser into soil; a new instrument to monitor information about grain as it is being harvested, and an all-natural, stem cell enhancer for horses.
Highlights of the three-day event this year include the Brownhill Cup presentation, Women in Business High Tea, Young Farmers Forum and the Inventor of the Year competition.
AgQuip will be held at its usual green field site, eight kilometres west of Gunnedah, on August 19-21.
