Tambar Springs Progress Association organised the night with the hope of bringing the community together for a “good old-fashioned ball”.
People came from Mullaley, Premer, Bundella, Gunnedah, Curlewis, Tamworth, Orange, Toowoomba and even Bulahdelah, to attend the ball.
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson and his band Splashpool kept the crowd on its feet for a night of dancing.
One of the organisers, Kylie Short, said several local businesses helped make the night such a big success.
“Traci Woods from Inspired Impression donated her time and services to decorate the hall, and Cara Anderson and the team from Addicted to Hair came out and cut and styled our hair,” Kylie said.
“Jodie Vince from Mullaley and her band of helpers provided a lovely three-course meal.”
Money raised from the night will go towards an annexe on the hall kitchen and a custom-made memorial at ANZAC Park to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landing. Funds will also be set aside to help celebrate the hall’s century in 2016.
