Alisha’s landslide victory in the fashion stakes, sponsored by the Namoi Valley Independent and Rosa Leopardo Hair Design, saw her receive 1836 votes out of the total 3408 responses.
Alisha took home the top prize of five nights accommodation for two in the Gold Coast, which she said she would share with her sister Hannah.
She was followed by second placegetter Tamworth girl Emily Learmonth ($200), who received 580 votes, and sister Brianna Learmonth ($100) who placed third, with 188 votes.
Gunnedah resident Ellen Webster received the voter’s prize of $100.
Alisha’s winning outfit was planned weeks in advance.
“I usually like to start with a focal piece of an outfit for the races and then build from there,” Alisha said.
“On this occasion I purchased the blazer first and then dug through my wardrobe for the other pieces.”
Alisha’s designer outfit consisted of a red felt fascinator by Cupid’s Millinery Melbourne, ASOS dress, Cue blazer, Mimco handbag and Nude Footwear heels.
“I don’t have a specific fashion inspiration, however, I do like the vintage style and cannot go past a good classic piece that suits my body shape and will be stylish and wearable for more than one season rather than following a particular trend,” she said.
Alisha thanked Rosa Leopardo Hair Design and the Namoi Valley Independent for the opportunity and is looking forward to planning her holiday.
